Thank you every one for
making this years Bellingham ComiCon a real wing-ding!
What a great turnout. There were 750 paid attendees at
the door with already about 150 for vendors, guests and
volunteers. Throw in all the kids that were admitted for
free and we had over 900 in the room.
Some of the guests didn't now
what to expect but were extremely pleased and surprised
with the turn out. You made them feel very welcome. The
501st and Mandalorian Mercs worked tirelessly for the fans
and raised over $400 for Blue Skies for Children. Also my hats off to Aja from
Eagles Hobbies, Games & Miniatures in Bellingham for
coordinating the shows very first costume contest,
soliciting prizes from local businesses, and delegating
the Magic tournament to local players. Eagles was the
sponsor for both the costume contest and Magic tournament.
The next time you're downtown stop in and see the great
product selection they carry. I also want to thank the two
volunteers (whose names escape me) from Aja's crew who
stayed late to help stack chairs and break down tables.
Their efforts allowed me to stay home on Sunday and rest
up before going back to my day job on Monday.
Well time to start thinking
about next year. In the mean time, send more photos for
the Facebook site. See you next time! Best,
Eric Northwest
